About Armed Forces and Military Veterans Appreciation Inc.
Armed Forces and Military Veterans Appreciation Inc. (AFMVA) was established in 2014 to carry out its mission of support and assistance. Our goal is to be available to provide help in areas of job connection, education, relocation, and transition from active duty to civilian life; working through our North Las Vegas Veterans Community Commission.
In 2016, in addition to our military and veterans, and in recognition of “Patriot Day” proclaimed by presidential executive order, we will now be honoring those 2,977 individuals who perished during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, many of whom were veteran citizens, police, firefighters and first responders.
On June 15, 2016, North Las Vegas mayor and council, adopted a resolution that will now honor those who lost their lives, along with our military who have and continue to serve our country during the second Saturday in September of each year.
